Stacy E. Woodson, P.E. is a Senior Project Manager for HR Green, Inc. located in the Cedar Rapids, Iowa office.  As a Senior Project Manager, Stacy is responsible for managing the environmental planning process for transportation clients.  In this role, she assists clients through the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process, oversees project budgets and schedules, assists with the development of documents, and conducts quality reviews of products.  She is also the Technical Director for the NEPA and Planning Technical Group, responsible for facilitating communication both internal and external to the company, sharing workload with a group of NEPA and Planning practitioners within the company, and staying current with regulatory and environmental trends in the marketplace.

Stacy has over 17 years of experience helping clients achieve environmental compliance with federal laws such as, Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, Historic Preservation Act, and the National Environmental Policy Act.  Stacy’s experience includes environmental resource impact analysis, report writing, public involvement, and coordination with federal, state, and local agencies.

Stacy received a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Iowa State University in 1998.  She is a licensed civil engineer in the state of Iowa and Minnesota.  She is an active member in the American Society of Civil Engineers, the National Association of Environmental Professionals, and the Society of Women Engineers.

Since becoming a member of NAEP in 2005, Stacy has attended eight annual conferences and was elected to the Board in 2016.  Of the eight annual conferences, she helped plan six as the Transportation Track Chair including: Phoenix 2009, Denver 2011, Portland 2012, St. Petersburg 2014, Honolulu 2015, and Chicago 2016.  She presented at two of the annual conferences including Orlando in 2007 and in St. Petersburg in 2014.  Stacy has also moderated numerous sessions at the national conference including sessions at the Denver 2011, Portland 2012, and St. Petersburg 2014 conferences.  In addition, she has been involved with the NEPA Working Group and the Transportation Working Group.

Stacy truly enjoys and appreciates the culture the NAEP has instilled in their members.  It is one of sharing information, collaborating ideas, and networking with other practitioners.  It is the emphasis on networking and collaborating that she values the most from her NAEP membership.  “The people I have met through my involvement in the NAEP are approachable, willing to share, and help brainstorm ideas for tricky projects.  I have called upon my network several times over my career looking for guidance and ideas.  I want to inspire others in this profession to become a member and connect with this valuable network.”

When Stacy is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and son.  She enjoys reading, volunteering, canoeing, hiking, and traveling.
