About the Session

The speakers will explore innovative ways to engage a wide variety of stakeholders. One way is to hear the voices of those stakeholders who are unwilling or unable to attend. A second way is to engage, involve and empower stakeholders who can help influence the decision-making process.

About the Presenters

Jennifer Kellar

Jennifer Kellar, APR, is an accredited public relations professional based in the Greater Baltimore Area. She leads AECOM Strategic Communications Services, which functions like a boutique public relations agency within AECOM, an engineering firm that designs, builds, finances and operates infrastructure assets in more than 150 countries.

She has nearly 20 years of experience in strategic communications and has led many environmentally-focused public involvement projects for public and private sector clients. Her extensive client list includes the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Maryland Environmental Service, and ComEd.

 

Jamie Martin-McNaughton

Ms. Jamie Martin-McNaughton is an environmental scientist at Potomac-Hudson Engineering, Inc (PHE) Gaithersburg, MD office with over 13 years of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) experience. During her time at PHE, Ms. Martin-McNaughton has participated in writing, editing, and producing several large industrial and military Environmental Impact Statements (EIS) and Environmental Assessments throughout the United States, and ensuring their compliance with Section 508. She also has supported federal and state clients by assisting with their public outreach, comment management, and database maintenance.

Melissa Secor

Ms. Secor is a Project Manager / Environmental Scientist at Potomac-Hudson Engineering, Inc. (PHE) with over 12 years of professional experience with National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) related projects. Ms. Secor has experience managing all aspects of the NEPA process, including public engagement efforts for large and controversial projects related to hazardous liquid pipelines, power generation and transmission, federal facility siting and construction, and military training. She has developed public engagement activities and schedules, identified and managed project stakeholders lists, evaluated public meeting needs and strategies (including meeting security requirements), secured appropriate venues, and managed overall meeting logistics.
