Christopher Rua

Mr. Christopher Rua, CHMM, is a Project Manager in Potomac-Hudson Engineering, Inc.’s (PHE’s) South Amboy, New Jersey office with over 18 years of environmental consulting experience. He graduated from Rutgers University in 2001 with a B.S. in Environmental Planning and Design. He later earned a master’s degree in Environmental Management from the University of Maryland-University College. He has been with PHE since 2001. Mr. Rua has consulted for numerous federal, state, private industry clients regarding waste identification, waste management, and waste reduction. He has focused on environmental compliance management for the past 10 years, conducting more than 50 multimedia compliance audits at facilities of all types and sizes. Mr. Rua recently supported the U.S. Coast Guard in the development of an Integrated Waste Management Job Guide, which provides waste management guidance to all U.S. Coast Guard shore facilities nationwide. In additional to AEP, Mr. Rua is a member of the Air & Waste Management Association and the Society of American Military Engineers.

Holly Brown

Ms. Brown has nine years of experience in Environmental Consulting and provides technical expertise and project management for preliminary assessments, site evaluations, remedial investigations and feasibility studies, and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) monitoring and statistical evaluations. Ms. Brown has helped design and implement successful accelerated anaerobic bioremediation systems for the Air Force.

She specializes in physical and contaminant hydrogeology, geochemistry, in-situ bioremediation, 3D data visualization, conceptual site model optimization, and fate and transport. She provides services to private, industrial, and federal clients. Holly has technical expertise in dealing with sites contaminated with crude oil, chlorinated solvents, petroleum hydrocarbons, volatile and semi-volatile organic compounds, polychlorinated biphenyls, 1,4-dioxane, explosives, heavy metals, and perfluorinated compounds.

James Occhialini

James F. (Jim) Occhialini is Vice President of Technical Sales and Program Manager for Sediment & Tissue, Petroleum Forensics, and Emerging Contaminants at Alpha Analytical. Jim has over 38 years of experience in environmental laboratory operations and new product development, environmental chemistry consulting applications for complex programs, and technical and regulatory support to laboratory group leaders, project managers, and senior management team leaders. Jim was previously Laboratory Manager and Principal Scientist with a large engineering firm managing laboratory operations and treatability study consulting services. Jim is an original member of the MassDEP workgroups for development of EPH/VPH analytical methods, Compendium of Analytical Methods (CAM) laboratory protocols, and Representativeness Evaluation and Data Usability Assessment guidance. Jim continues to participate on these workgroup guidance training teams, as well as leading technical presentations and training programs at conferences, association meetings and webinars. Jim holds a B.S. in Environmental Science and Chemistry from the University of Massachusetts. Jim is an Associate Member of the Association of Environmental Professionals of CT (EPOC); an Associate Member of the MA DEP Licensed Site Professionals Association (LSPA); and a Member of the MA DEP Data Enhancement Workgroup.
