Erica has more than 9 years of experience in the consulting industry preparing NEPA documents for a wide variety of federal projects across the county including US Forest Service, Navy, US Army Corps of Engineers, and US Marine Corps projects. Erica is currently a Senior NEPA Planner for Cardno TEC in Solana Beach, California. Erica provides framing and develops approaches for NEPA analyses, as well as tracking legal and court developments as they pertain to NEPA and other environmental statutes and regulations.

In addition to environmental consulting, Erica is an instructor at Platt College, teaching environmental science to graphics arts and design students. She has also volunteered at the Birch Aquarium in San Diego as an interpreter of marine ecosystems and grey whale behavior. As both a teacher and a volunteer, Erica focuses on inform the audience of the current scientific understands of the natural world, rather than advocate for a particular interpretation. My goal as a volunteer, teacher, and consultant is to provide my audience with the information they need to make informed decisions about environmental issues.

For NAEP, Erica is currently serving as a National Board Member and is assisting with the Education Working Group to improve educational offerings and member benefits. She has been involved in preparing marketing information, developing webinar topics, identifying speakers, and developing material for dissemination among all members. Erica is also a member of the NEPA Working Group to evaluate approaches to identifying how to evaluate NEPA success in practice, as well as expanding the reach of the group’s efforts beyond the NAEP.

Erica is excited to be a NAEP board member, and hopes to help develop improved outreach, member benefits, and professional development opportunities for members.
