Committees and Working Groups do the work . . . .

 

Listed here are the committees and working groups at NAEP.   Some committees generate information of interest mainly to the committee, while others provide articles or content likely to attract a wider audience within NAEP.   An alphabetical listing of all our committees appears down the right side with links to those committees that have web pages.  Committees and working groups are always open to new and old members wishing to contribute their expertise to improve our profession. To participate in these, you must be an NAEP member in good standing.  Contact the Chair of the committee or working group for more information on activities.  NAEP offers free conference calling for these activities.

 

Organizational Membership Working Groups

 

  • NEPA Working Group - The Mission of the NEPA Working Group is to improve environmental assessment as performed under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). The 2008-2009 Chair is Peter Havens, CEP.

 

  • Education Research & Science Working Group - Dedicated to enhancing education of environmental professionals.  Conducting research, outreach, and learning related to complex interdisciplinary practice. Chair is Richard Smardon.   

 

  • Transportation Working Group - Exploring improved methods for Transportation projects using NEPA processes.  Educating Transportation professionals on proper use and application of environmental planning.    

 

  • Sustainable Systems Working Group – Integrating and evaluating local, regional, and global issues in all areas of our professional and personal lives including business, education, and public outreach. Co-chairs are Don Sayre and Audrey Unger.

 

  • Utility Working Group - Investigating best practices involving oil, gas, and electric utilities for the protection of human health and the environment.
