Both th e NHPA and NEPA processes require federal agencies to inform and engage the public regarding the minimization or mitigation of impacts to resources as a part of our projects. The NEPA and Section 106 processes often run concu rrently and occasionally, the NEPA process is substituted for the Section 1 06 process. While you likely have participated in one (or both!) of these p rocesses in the past, we all know that satisfying these requirements succes sfully often requires more than simply holding a public meeting.
ACRA and the National Association of Environmental Profes sionals (NAEP) have joined forces to present Harnessing the Power of the People in NE PA and Section 106 Compliance on February 20 at 3:00 pm EST. This webinar will provide concrete examples of successful publi c engagement processes utilized by a variety of agencies including the Indi ana Department of Transportation, the Air Force, and the Federal Transit Au thority.
Our expert panel, including as Section 106 expe rt, a NEPA expert, a representative of a Federal Agency, and a representati ve of the ACHP, will review how agencies can and have engaged the public du ring the NEPA and Section 106 processes to refine and enhance their project s. Attendees should walk away with a better understanding of the public par ticipation process and with several examples of successful public interacti ons.
Both ACRA and NAEP members receive the mem ber rate for this webinar, and ACRA students can attend for just $19. Reserve your spot now!
