About

Join us for a webinar on ethics and technology for the environmental professional! This presentation will start with a discussion of the various ethical requirements for attorneys, engineers, planners, and NAEP Members. This will be followed by a discussion about how those ethical requirements interplay with the increasing use of technology, including how to use technology to maintain privacy and ethical requirements. The webinar will finish with a discussion of practical pointers on how to make the most efficient and effective use of the various tools and technologies professionals have come to rely on.

Timothy J. Perry is a shareholder with his firm, Gardner, Bist, Bowden, Dee, LaVia, Wright, Perry & Harper, P.A., in Tallahassee, Florida. His practice concentrates on representing clients statewide in the areas of environmental, utility, land use, and administrative law. He is a frequent lecturer in his areas of practice, covering topics including wetland delineations, water use permitting, coastal resiliency, land use and zoning, the Clean Water Act, and the Clean Air Act. Mr. Perry is admitted to practice in Florida and Alabama. He is the Past-President of the Florida Association of Environmental Professionals and the Tallahassee Area Association of Environmental Professionals and is a Board Member of the National Association of Environmental Professionals.

Joe Ullo counsels large and small business owners, landowners, private companies, and county and municipal governments statewide in all aspects of federal, state, and local environmental law, regulations, and processes that govern the consideration and usage of land, management of waste, and real property rights. Joe has more than 25 years of experience serving clients throughout Florida in environmental matters.  Previously, Joe served as Director of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Division of Waste Management (DWM). Before practicing law, Joe worked as a registered professional engineer for almost 10 years. He managed hazardous waste, petroleum, and dry cleaning cleanups in the southeastern United States, oversaw environmental compliance for private manufacturers, and assisted with wastewater infrastructure evaluations at federal facilities. Since 2009, Joe is also a registered patent attorney and assists clients on intellectual property matters especially on relation to green energy technologies, water treatment, or remedial technologies. Joe is a Board Member of the Tallahassee Area Association of Environmental Professionals.

Kathryn B. Rossmell

Kathryn B. Rossmell’s practice focuses on land use, environmental, local government, and natural resources law. She represents private clients on land use matters including comprehensive planning issues and land development regulation application, drafting, and implementation; public and private clients on natural resources permitting issues; clients challenging and defending National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) compliance; as well as civil litigation for public and private clients for matters within her practice areas. Kathryn is Chair of Florida Atlantic University’s Pine Jog Environmental Education Center, where she was recognized with the 2020 Young Professional of the Year Award. She is a Past President of the Treasure Coast Chapter of the Florida Association of Environmental Professionals and in 2020 she was awarded the Treasure of the Chapter Award for her exemplary dedication to the success of the chapter. 

Kathryn is also a member of The Florida Bar’s Environmental and Land Use Law Section, City County and Local Government Law Section, Administrative Law Section, and the Young Lawyers Division. She is a member of the American Bar Association’s Section of Environment, Energy, and Resources and a member of the Palm Beach County Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section.
